Solar Energy Support Programme

The Sasol Siyakha Trust is inviting EME and QSE qualifying Black-owned Sasol supplier SMEs to apply for a fully funded solar energy solution, building on the success of the previous phases that have already supported SMEs with access to renewable energy solutions. This opportunity is exclusively available to SMEs that are active Sasol suppliers. It provides solar energy solutions, extended as grants, to selected SME suppliers, reducing electricity costs and enhancing financial stability. These savings will support growth, improve productivity, and strengthen the long -term competitiveness of your business.

Who can appply?

To qualify for this opportunity, your business must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an active EME/QSE Sasol supplier with a valid vendor number.
  • Be at least 51% Black -owned (see priority groups below).
  • Provide proof of premises:
    • Valid lease agreement (3 –5 years), or
    • Ownership documents (title deed or municipal rates in business name).
  • Consent to a structural and energy audit.
  • Hold a valid Certificate of Compliance (CoC) for current electrical installations.
  • Have a roof surface and structure that is suitable for solar installation and can safely support the
  • additional load of solar panels, as confirmed through an assessment by a registered structural engineer.
  • Be willing to fund an alternative structure should your premises not meet structural requirements.

Priority will be given to:

  • 100% Black -owned and Black Woman -Owned SMEs.
  • Sasol Siyakha funded entities – must have an active loan agreement or paid -up loan in the
  • past five (5) years.
  • SMEs who operate within 50kms of Sasol’s operations.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting – Shortlisted applicants will be notified via email.
  • Due Diligence – Final beneficiary status will only be confirmed once energy, structural and due diligence
  • assessments have been concluded.
  • Onboarding – Acceptance of the applicable grant and relevant terms before installation can commence.
  • Delivery & installation – Delivery and installations will be scheduled and implemented by a Sasol
  • appointed third -party partner.
